Let’s address the common question of how much you can expect to shell out for a weighted blanket. The answer will depend on several factors.

How Much Does a Weighted Blanket Cost?

In general, the price of a weighted blanket is going to depend on the size you order, the materials in the construction of the product, and whether it comes with a removable cover.

And don’t forget to factor in where you live if you order online. Is there an exchange of currency that will convert in your favor? And, will there be a delivery charge?

Most of the time a smaller child-size weighted blanket will run under a hundred dollars, while the larger adult-size blankets will usually be over the hundred dollar price point.

There can be a significant range, depending on size, features, and brand.

Size of the Weighted Blanket

Usually, the larger a weighted blanket is, the more it costs. Smaller blankets designed for kids and toddlers tend to cost less than the larger products created with teens and adults in mind. Weight might also influence shipping charges.

Materials in the Weighted Blanket

Likewise with the materials used in the construction. If the materials are more high-end, then they will likely cost more to use in the manufacturing of the product than if they go with cheaper materials.

How cheap can you go before you lose quality?

If you want your weighted blanket to hold up under the normal wear and tear of nightly use, then you’ll want to go with fabrics, construction, and weight fillings that can handle the job.

It’s less costly in the long run when you avoid frequent replacements.

Patented Features in a Weighted Blanket

The price also generally goes up if there is any type of special or patented technology used in the creation of the weighted blanket.

Several brands have their own patented technology that they claim improves the function of their products, especially for cooling and durability.

Weighted Blankets with Removable Covers Included

The other factor that can influence the price of a weighted blanket is whether a removable cover is included in the price or if you have to purchase one separately.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to use a removable cover with a weighted blanket, but we are big fans of the idea.

Personally, we find that it makes the most sense for easier care and protection of the investment. You’ll want your blanket to last as long as possible and regular use can take a toll on it.

Going with a weighted blanket that includes a removable duvet cover is more economical in the longterm because it saves having to replace the product as often.

Where You Live

If you order your weighted blanket online, where you live can make a difference to the final total of your bill. If you order from another country, the exchange of the currency may work for you or against you.

Also, the delivery price, if there is a shipping cost, can be expensive for a heavy product like a weighted blanket.

Weighted Blanket Brand

The brand of the weighted blanket you choose can also affect the price point. If the brand is popular, has patented features, or uses high-end materials, you’ll likely pay more than for a cheaper generic product.

You’ll have to weigh the options because sometimes it’s better and sometimes it’s not.

Paying extra for something just because it’s popular is never a good idea. But going for quality materials can be if it fits your budget.

As you can see, there are several factors that will influence the cost of your weighted blanket. Do your homework to get the best choice for your needs and budget.

Is the Most Expensive Weighted Blanket Necessary?

So, since a weighted blanket can be a pricey investment, you may be wondering if you need to buy the most expensive blanket in order to get one that will stand up to wear and tear.

The answer in a nutshell is, not necessarily.

Paying more for your weighted blanket will likely mean it’s constructed with better quality materials, but it doesn’t mean you have to go with the most expensive choice.

There are several weighted blankets on the market that are affordable, come with removable covers, and are still made with quality material and construction.

Thanks for the information on weighted blankets.  I did not realize there were so many factors to consider in determing the price of a weighted blanket.

It’s good to know that you do not have to purchase the most expensive blanket to obtain many of its benefits.  Quality construction and materials are certainly important and getting them at an affordble price is even better.

In my opinion price should not be a consideration when you need to obtain the benefits of this blanket for specific needs.  Obraining value at the best price is certainly the way to go.  Thanks for these many insights.  Much appreciated.

    1. Hi Joseph;

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. No, we didn’t go with the most expensive blanket for our son, but rather the one that suited his needs and was the best value in our opinion.

      Best to you,
      Stella 🙂

  3. Hey thank you for the awesome post!! I have been considering getting a weighted blanket for a while now, and one of my first questions was cost. I’m one of those people who always says you get what you pay for. I would prefer to get top quality and longer lasting than anything else. I might give the brand you mentioned a try! I need one big enough for two adults.

  4. One of the bigger mistake that most people commit when they are about to buy a weighted blanket is putting the price up first as the deciding factor. This is not supposed to be because price alone cannot be the reason for a worthy blanket. I really like the fact that you have expatiated more on the need to consider the structure and quality that goes into the making. Great post here and surely worthy of being shared.

That’s so true. While your budget has to be taken into consideration when buying a weighted blanket, there are also many other factors to consider, too.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts,

  5. A weighted blanket might be worth breaking the banks on but most times, I feel that it is not worth it too. To be honest, I always feel like there should be more than just the ordinary price. Often, the big brands would only inflate price without giving the best of quality and that is the reason more considerations should be taken before buying a blanket. The quality and the personal needs should be considered and be tried out first.

    1. Hi Bella;

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yes, it always pays to do your research before making an investment in something like a weighted blanket. But they can be worth it if you find the one that suits your needs, like we did with the Degrees of Comfort weighted blanket for our son. It’s helped him a lot.

      Best to you,
